Vintage Tennis Style

I spied these wonderful vintagey/wedding/tennis photographs from A Cup of Jo and just had to share them because they tick some of my favourite aesthetic boxes:

  • Tennis (preferably on an old-school estate, a la Woody Allen’s Match Point)
  • Vintage weddings
  • Weddings full stop (I am a romantic after all)
  • Sensitive, detailed photography

I love the bridesmaid’s butter yellow dress and the brown flats. So stunning in a paired-back retro, no need to think about being beautiful because it just is way.

Images above from A Cup of Jo and OnceWed.com.

I love estate tennis style. The subtly tanned skin, the athletic beauty, the clean, pressed whites, the almost coy short dresses and fitted polo tops. Tennis is innately elegant, innately classy.

A still from 2005′s Match Point, one of my favourite films. I love the easy elegance: the slouchy marle top, the whites, the preppy ponytail, and of course her amazing aristocratic cheekbones.

And of course the recent Hermes take on tennis: Hermes and Tennis is the perfect style marriage when you think of it.

Tennis schoolgirls, sportsgirls from Ebay. Don’t you love those legs and belted waists? Click images to see sellers.
