I’ve never been to the US and hubby and I are going this August – to San Francisco, the California coast, then NYC. I am beside myself with excitement and have already begun making copious lists of what to pack, where to go, what to buy et cetera. I have to confess one of my favourite things about a holiday is the list making and preparing. Also I am excited because I get to avoid the last month of winter in Australia.
One of my most *important* lists is what clothes to pack. I intend to do a LOT of shopping so want to pack lightly although this is not an easy feat for yours truly. As inspiration I thought I would share some of my favourite summer style shots I’ve collected from two of my favourite style blogs – The Sartorialist and Garance Dore. When I am deciding what to pack I am going to look at these images to keep me ‘in line’ – ie not falling into the trap of packing ‘holiday’ clothes which tend to conjure images of fluorescents and loud prints and things that do not match. But these – bliss!

That girl in the white dress reaching into the fast-food van is going to be my inspiration for the upcoming winter, I just decided!! I’ve already printed her out. Hopefully she will keep me on track to lose a little weight and become more devoted to spray tanning!
