Vintage wedding dress

This 196o’s wedding gown from Dear Golden Vintage is just gorgeous: the exaggerated yet neat bow, the lace empire bodice and the wide train make it charming and slightly innocent. I can just imagine it with a small, easy posy of garden flowers, flushed pink cheeks and wide, smokey eyes. The bride’s hair would be up but not perfectly so; maybe with a side-swept fringe and loose tendrils, or a low, slightly tousled bun. The bridesmaids might be in cute little shifts in creamy lace or voluminous knee-length tea party dresses with nipped in waists and circle skirts in happy pastels or vintage florals. The flower girls carry kissing balls on long ribbons. This bride knows propriety but there is something playful about her. She likes to giggle, she might have freckles, she loves ribbons and bows, her favourite flowers are hydrangeas, violets, white daisies. She is optimistic and hopeful, always. She is madly in love and believes in happy endings.

Imagine …
