Four things I love (French skincare edition)

Hello my beauties!

A little while ago I wrote about Gwyneth Paltrow’s French pharmacy favourites as featured in Goop, adding in my own low to mid-range French beauty product picks. Since then I’ve had the pleasure of trialling some new French products by classic, much-loved French companies and these four beauties have particularly impressed me. Now if only I could use them while actually in Paris …

Thalgo Plasmalg Gel. I wrote about this mysterious cult product recentlyand I am still loving it. It smells like seaweed and it makes my skin look seriously amazing – like someone buffed and polished it while I was sleeping. Extremely calming too. I bought mine from Adore Beauty.

Chanel UV Essential Multi Protection Daily UV Care SPF 50. This gorgeously scented, hydrating, light on the skin mineral sunscreen is sadly is not available in Australia but you can sometimes buy it through Nordstrom and I always pick up a bottle if in duty-free. See Chanel.com

Guinot Longue Vie Yeux Eye Lifting. This is the first Guinot product I have tried and I love it. It smells like only a French product can – floral, powdery, elegant – and it feels hydrating and just rich enough to be luxe without being too heavy. It makes the area under my eyes look even-toned and plump. I bought mine from Adore Beauty.

Chloe eau de parfum by Chloe. I am one of a dying breed of ‘signature’ perfume adorners. I do confess to a generous collection of perfumes but really I only wear two-three perfumes over a 12 month period: a summer perfume, a winter perfume and a special occasion perfume. The succulent green Gucci Envy is my warm weather perfume; Stella by Stella McCartney EDP is my cosy-in-cold-weather perfume. My special occasion perfume is the one I love so much I do not want it tainted with memories of stressful or even just humdrum working days – Chloe by Chloe EDP. It is the only scent I’ve worn which smells redolently of fresh roses – not of dried or old roses. Every time I put it on I am momentarily startled by how beautiful and fresh it is, which is why I do not wear it every day as I do not want that small, precious surprise to ever fade. From department stores.

Some more things I love.
